What’s New:
Our 2009 Renewal Season has been extremely successful.
Specifically, this was our first year of auditing Continuing
Education for renewal and those audited for their CEU’s all
had their paperwork in order and more than enough hours for
renewal. Thank you to our licensees for being so organized
and conscientious.
Our 2010 Calendar is now posted under the “Calendar” tab.
On August 14, 2009, the Board voted to accept the Alabama
Court Reporter Association’s (ACRA) Examination for
Licensure. The first ACRA Examination date is scheduled for
February 6, 2010. You may contact ACRA by clicking on the
“Links” or “Exam” tab on this site for more information.

The effective date of Licensure in Alabama was
October 1, 2007. The State Bar and Administrative
Office of the Courts have been notified that all court
reporting services must now be performed by Certified Court
Reporters (CCR’s) and all transcripts must contain the CCR
Number. Please list your number as,
“ACCR” and follow with your assigned number on your
transcripts. On this page you will find an example of a
certificate page with this required information.
Please note that under current statute, notary publics are
required to administer oaths. We are very excited to
continue the licensure process and are looking forward to
our next stage of development for licensure in the State of
Alabama.
